The trend is upwards for Jason and ADM heading out of Round 2 of the GB4 Championship. This weekend saw multiple improvements, and the teams first ever podium.
The weekend began on a high note with Jason qualifying P10, P11, and P2 for races 1, 2, and 3 respectively. A far improvement from Donington. Race 1 was held on the same day as Qualifying. As the lights went out, Jason had a good reaction off the line, but as he grabbed the gear too early, he lost out massively on the second phase of the start, losing multiple positions in the first lap. From there it was a battle with dirty air and other cars, resulting in a salvaged P12.
Sunday morning rolled around and so did Race 2. Starting P11, he had a better start, learning from mistakes in the previous race, and gaining positions off the line. The pack ebbed and flowed, and on lap 3 there was a safety car. Trying to capitalize on the restart, Jason made a move into Vale, but made tire contact and spun. Unable to restart the car, Jason’s race ended on lap 5.
Race 3 was the focus. Starting P2, the plan was simple: get a good start and maintain the lead. Dirty air has been a big factor this weekend for all cars, and the leader always has the advantage. As the lights went out, Jason had perfect reaction time and traction off the line, and was able to clear the polesitter before the first turn. For the first four laps he held off championship leader Dan Guinchard, until a small mistake opened an opportunity for Guinchard to pass Jason. Jason never let go of the back of Guinchard, but was unable to make a move to retake the lead. After 18 minutes Jason finished P2 with the third fastest lap, giving ADM their first podium in their GB4 campaign. “I’m incredibly proud of the team, and honored to capitalize on the hard work everyone had put in this weekend. It’s an addicting feeling and I plan on being back at the top soon” said Jason after Race 3.
As always, the Races were live streamed on the MSV TV YouTube Channel, so be sure to watch the race replays.
This weekend marked a critical point in ADM’s 2025 GB4 campaign, as the team has finally found synergy between Jason and the car. Looking ahead, the teams next outing is May 23rd – 26th at Oulton Park. And with a high end to Silverstone, they’ll be entering the weekend with confidence.
