A Solid End to the Season

In the same place it started, the 2025 GB4 Championship closed out at Donington Park. And with the final round, came a new sense of confidence from Jason and the team.

Thursday and Friday testing were dry and wet respectively. In the dry Jason was running top 3 times, and in the wet top 5, while overall feeling more comfortable in the car than ever. The cohesion of the team was great, and while running in all sorts of conditions, they were able to find a setup for the wet and dry heading into qualifying on Saturday. As a reminder, this weekend would be particularly eventful as they not only had the three final races of the season, but the carry over race from Brands Hatch at the end of the weekend.

Saturday morning was wet, and so was qualifying. Despite the strong pace from Jason in the wet tests, being the first car out came at a slight disadvantage, hitting the wettest parts of the track first. In the end, he qualified 12th, 9th, and 1st, for races 1, 2, and 3 respectively.

Qualifying out of position isn’t something Jason is unaccustomed to however, so with strong pace and high expectations, Jason was prepared to make passes happen. Race 1 began with an incredible launch off the line. Jason made up 7 positions, into P5 and held position for almost the entire race, until the gear actuator failed, preventing him from shifting and forcing an early retirement. Race 2 was solid in terms of pace, but relatively uneventful for Jason, going from 9th to 7th. Race 3, due to the reverse grid, he started on pole. Leading the first few laps, he was passed by eventual champion Bansal, and lost another spot due to a mistake. As he was charging back, he was taken out in the second hairpin, forcing Jason to make a charge from 20th back to 14th at the flag. Jason started in P13 for Race 4, even more out of position, and fought hard over the 18 minute race to make it up to 7th in the final race of the season.

“It was a crazy weekend, but it was a great end to the season. Although there was more to be had this weekend, I can’t help but leave feeling triumphant after such a strong performance, even if the results didn’t pan out.” Says Jason.

While the GB4 season is done, Jason’s season isn’t quite finished yet, so look out for potentially another new car in the coming weeks.
